About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded technology company in Munich that is transforming operations in the construction sector through AI-driven automation. Our client has secured significant venture backing and works with major enterprise customers across Europe. They are now scaling their engineering organization and need a Head of Engineering to lead that growth.

As the engineering team expands beyond 10 people across multiple product teams, our client needs a technical leader who can own talent acquisition, coaching, organizational design, and team development end-to-end. This role will partner closely with the CTO to build both the platform and the team behind it, ensuring every engineer has the structure, feedback, and growth opportunities to excel.

Responsibilities

• Redesign the engineering organization structure and career framework as the team scales
• Build and run a technical recruiting engine that consistently attracts top-tier engineering talent across all teams
• Establish coaching, feedback, and performance management rhythms that develop team leads into strong managers
• Serve as a technical sparring partner in architecture and system design conversations
• Own end-to-end organizational design, creating scalable processes and structures from the ground up
• Drive strategic initiatives that multiply platform value and team effectiveness

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial time in high-growth startups or scale-ups
• Proven track record leading engineering teams of 10+ people, ideally managing managers or technical leads
• Strong technical foundation to engage meaningfully in architecture and system design discussions
• Experience building or scaling technical recruiting operations and raising the hiring bar
• AI-first mindset with hands-on experience using modern AI-assisted engineering workflows
• Structured approach and comfort operating under ambiguity, with ability to design organizations from scratch
• Full professional proficiency in both German and English
