Head of Delivery

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential government technology services firm seeking a Head of Delivery to serve as their highest technical authority while remaining hands-on with customer delivery work. This is a remote leadership role for someone who has never stopped building.

Our client is a specialized federal contractor with a strong technical culture and a focus on mission-critical outcomes. They work primarily with defense and intelligence customers, deploying advanced data integration and decision-support platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the company's mission-outcome methodology and technical standards across all customer engagements
• Remain billable at approximately 40% of your time, working hands-on in live customer environments to solve the hardest technical problems
• Lead and manage the technical delivery team and hold delivery operations accountable for staffing, utilization, and scheduling
• Own ontology and data model design, build patterns, security posture, testing protocols, and design review processes
• Serve as the technical face of the organization to technology partners and advise senior customer stakeholders on solution architecture
• Set and enforce the technical hiring bar; develop technical leads across hub locations
• Create reusable accelerators and document repeatable delivery capabilities
• Travel regularly to customer sites and company hub locations

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 10+ years in software, data, or forward-deployed engineering with a proven track record of shipping production systems
• 3+ years leading technical teams with direct people management responsibility, including hiring, development, and performance management
• Hands-on experience with Palantir platforms (Foundry, Gotham, and/or AIP) or a directly comparable forward-deployed engineering model
• Demonstrated ownership of technical standards across multiple teams
• Executive presence and credibility with senior government or military stakeholders
• Experience managing operations or program management functions through direct reports
• Willingness and ability to maintain a 40% billable delivery load as a permanent aspect of the role
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred:

• Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Deployment Strategist, or partner-side delivery leader with Palantir
• Defense, intelligence, or national security sector experience
• Active or recent security clearance
• Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework
