Group Lead Intellectual Property Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Group Lead Intellectual Property Counsel to join Dr Reddy's Laboratories Limited as a remote full-time position. Lead our intellectual property legal function from wherever you work, protecting our innovations and driving strategic IP initiatives across the organization.

Role Overview

As Group Lead Intellectual Property Counsel at Dr Reddy's Laboratories Limited, you will spearhead all intellectual property legal matters for our organization. This leadership position offers the opportunity to shape IP strategy, guide our legal team, and ensure robust protection of our proprietary assets. You'll be instrumental in navigating complex IP challenges while supporting our business objectives from a remote capacity.

Responsibilities

• Direct the intellectual property legal function, overseeing patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters
• Develop and execute comprehensive IP strategy aligned with corporate objectives
• Lead, mentor, and manage the intellectual property counsel team
• Provide strategic legal counsel on IP acquisition, licensing, enforcement, and litigation
• Review and advise on agreements involving intellectual property rights and protections
• Oversee IP portfolio management, including prosecution and maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with intellectual property laws and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with R&D, business, and commercial teams to identify and protect innovations
• Assess IP risks and develop mitigation strategies

What You Bring

• Juris Doctor degree and active bar admission in the United States
• Extensive experience in intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing legal teams
• Strong background in IP prosecution, licensing, and dispute resolution
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts for business audiences
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strategic thinking with the ability to align IP initiatives with business goals
• Experience working in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is preferred
