What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor patient respiratory function using clinical evaluation and diagnostic equipment
- Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment including oxygen delivery systems, ventilators, and aerosol therapy devices
- Collect and analyze blood samples for arterial blood gas testing and other respiratory assessments
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and breathing techniques
- Document patient interactions and clinical findings accurately in medical records
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on respiratory care plans
- Respond to patient needs and equipment alarms with appropriate clinical attention
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program (two-year or four-year degree)
- Current certification as an RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician), or completion of the required exam
- Valid Michigan respiratory therapist license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
