Soliant Health is seeking a full-time Travel Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Upper Union, Schenectady County, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced respiratory care professional to deliver patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare setting while expanding your clinical expertise across diverse patient populations.
About the Role
As a Travel Respiratory Therapist, you'll provide essential respiratory care services to patients across various hospital departments and care units. This full-time position allows you to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while gaining valuable experience in a new community. You'll work collaboratively with interdisciplinary medical teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate respiratory therapy services.
What You'll Do
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients requiring respiratory care and oxygen therapy
- Perform pulmonary function testing, blood gas analysis, and other diagnostic procedures
- Manage mechanical ventilation, including setup, troubleshooting, and patient weaning protocols
- Administer aerosol medications and breathing treatments according to physician orders
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatment plans
- Maintain detailed, accurate patient records and communicate effectively with healthcare team members
- Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and code situations
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe care environment
What We're Looking For
- Current Respiratory Therapist licensure in New York
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential or willingness to obtain
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
- Minimum one year of clinical respiratory therapy experience
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Professional attitude and commitment to patient safety
