Mercor is seeking a full-time US-based Generalist fluent in English and Odia to evaluate and improve artificial intelligence models through assessment of AI-generated content. This opportunity allows you to directly influence AI development for Odia-speaking users worldwide.

Role Overview

In this role, you'll serve as a linguistic quality expert, evaluating AI model outputs in Odia and providing feedback to enhance their accuracy and cultural appropriateness. Your bilingual capabilities—native Odia proficiency combined with strong English communication—make you invaluable to Mercor's mission of creating AI systems that work effectively across languages. You'll contribute to training datasets and quality benchmarks that refine how AI understands and generates Odia language.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess AI-generated responses in Odia for linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance
• Provide detailed constructive feedback on model output quality and areas for improvement
• Complete a bilingual competency assessment conducted in Odia to validate language expertise
• Create and annotate training data that helps AI systems learn Odia language nuances
• Communicate evaluation findings and recommendations in English to project teams

Who We're Looking For

• Native-level proficiency in Odia and strong working fluency in English
• Willingness and ability to pass a language proficiency assessment in Odia
• Sharp attention to detail when evaluating linguistic quality and cultural authenticity
• Interest in AI, machine learning, or language technology (experience not required)
• Clear communication skills and ability to provide constructive, specific feedback
