Fullstack Engineer – Subscriptions

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential music technology company in their search for a Fullstack Engineer to join their subscriptions platform team in London. Our client is building the internal tools and platforms that power a global subscription business, enabling teams to launch offers, manage pricing strategies, and configure premium products at scale.

In this role, you'll develop end-to-end solutions spanning modern web applications, backend services, and data platforms. You'll create intuitive internal products that enable business teams to operate confidently through secure workflows and reliable platform services.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end features across modern web applications, backend services, and data platforms that support global subscription operations
• Create intuitive internal products that enable business teams to launch, configure, and manage premium offers through secure, guided workflows
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that power subscriptions, prepaid products, pricing, promotions, and offer lifecycle management
• Develop GraphQL and gRPC APIs that connect frontend applications with distributed platform services
• Design efficient database schemas, implement data migrations, and optimize application performance using PostgreSQL
• Build secure, reliable, and auditable systems that support business-critical financial operations and compliance workflows
• Collaborate with engineers across the platform to evolve shared capabilities, improve developer experience, and increase reliability
• Write maintainable, well-tested code while contributing to technical design, architecture discussions, and code reviews
• Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain service reliability and availability

What We're Looking For

• Production experience building and delivering software across both frontend and backend technologies
• Experience developing scalable backend services using modern Java (Java 17+ is a plus)
• Experience building modern web applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js
• Experience designing or consuming GraphQL APIs and building schema-driven applications
• Experience with gRPC services and Protocol Buffers, or eagerness to deepen expertise in distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization
• Commitment to writing reliable, maintainable, and well-tested software that delivers long-term value
• Ability to partner effectively with engineers, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders
• Passion for simplifying complex workflows and creating intuitive experiences for internal users
• Experience with tools such as jOOQ, Flyway, Apollo GraphQL, DataLoader, Styled Components, Storybook, TanStack Query, Tailwind CSS, or Material UI is beneficial
• Experience building commerce platforms, subscription products, pricing systems, or large-scale platform modernization initiatives is a plus

Location: London or EMEA region with flexible work arrangements. The team collaborates within Central European and GMT time zones.
