Forward Deployed Engineering Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization that is transforming how industrial companies handle their operations through AI-powered automation. Our client is backed by top-tier venture investors and is deploying enterprise-scale implementations across the US, UK, and EU.

We're seeking a Forward Deployed Engineering Lead based in Munich to own the critical bridge between product, engineering, and customers. This is a high-ownership role where you'll define how solutions are implemented and scaled across major organizations, ensuring successful adoption while building the processes that enable rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full customer implementation lifecycle from discovery through production rollout, owning onboarding processes and coordinating deployments with engineering teams
• Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, data systems, and requirements, then collaborate with engineers to deliver reliable solutions
• Establish deployment playbooks, processes, and best practices that enable faster and more consistent customer implementations
• Identify bottlenecks in onboarding and partner with engineering and product teams to improve tooling, documentation, and workflows
• Act as the bridge between customers, leadership, and engineering—translating customer needs into clear technical requirements and ensuring alignment between expectations and capabilities
• Build scalable systems and processes from scratch that support the company's growth trajectory

What We're Looking For

• High agency and ability to operate independently with strong ownership of customer outcomes
• Fluent English and German—this is essential for success in this role
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfort managing complex software deployments and collaborating closely with engineers
• Ability to translate customer workflows and business requirements into actionable technical solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in ambiguous startup environments
• Experience or strong interest in building processes and creating scalable systems
• Startup mindset with willingness to work beyond traditional hours when needed
• Familiarity with modern tech stacks (Python, TypeScript, Postgres) is helpful
