Forward Deployed Engineer, France/Nordics

Responsibilities

We are representing a profitable telecommunications infrastructure company that is building an Enterprise Sales Pod in Paris. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work alongside a dedicated Enterprise Account Executive to deliver production solutions for enterprise customers across France and the Nordic region.

In this role, you will:

• Embed directly with enterprise customers to understand their communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration requirements
• Build and deploy custom implementations including AI Voice Assistants, voice and messaging APIs, WebRTC, and wireless solutions
• Deploy and operate LLM gateways in customer environments, providing unified interfaces across self-hosted open-weight models and hosted providers
• Implement production observability for all deployments—metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and ELK
• Design model routing strategies for real-time voice workloads, balancing latency, cost, and quality with appropriate fallback behavior
• Adapt models to customer domains through prompt engineering and RAG pipelines for French, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, and Finnish language use cases
• Lead proof-of-concepts, pilots, and production launches from initial whiteboard sessions through go-live
• Own customer outcomes—remain engaged until solutions are live and stable in production
• Create technical documentation, runbooks, and maintainable solutions for customer handoff
• Troubleshoot complex integration issues alongside customer technical teams
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape roadmap based on field insights

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Computer Science degree or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years building and shipping production software that real users depended on, including on-call experience
• Proficiency in multiple languages: Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Go
• Practical understanding of LLM production challenges: provider rate limits, timeout and retry behavior, streaming, token accounting, and concurrency failure modes
• Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes with proper secrets management and configuration
• Hands-on observability experience—you've instrumented systems and been paged when alerts fired
• High-concurrency experience with Kafka, message queues, or event streams at scale
• Track record building APIs from scratch including OpenAPI spec, REST/GraphQL design, auth, and rate limiting
• Event-driven architecture thinking and cloud-native development instincts
• Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice/messaging systems
• Self-sufficient engineering approach—you read code and documentation, engage customers directly, and make sound technical decisions independently
• Customer-facing engineering experience—comfortable running technical discovery and presenting to executives
• Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and French
• Based in Paris or willing to relocate—this is a hybrid role with travel across France and the Nordics
• Legal authorization to work in France or eligibility for visa sponsorship

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with AI voice assistants, speech-to-text/text-to-speech, or LLM-based conversational systems
• Production experience with LLM gateways including config-driven model definitions, routing, and virtual key management
• Familiarity with EU sovereign AI initiatives and the open-weight model landscape
• Experience with inference serving engines like vLLM, SGLang, or TGI, and GPU capacity planning
• SQL proficiency and ETL experience
• CI/CD pipeline design and automation background
• Experience in telecom, communications platform-as-a-service, or high-growth SaaS environments
• Knowledge of sovereign or on-premises cloud deployments and EU regulatory frameworks (GDPR, EU AI Act, French data sovereignty, Nordic data protection laws)
• Security mindset with IAM, encryption, and audit logging experience
