Forward Deployed Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential enterprise AI software company seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer for their London office. In this role, you will engineer full-stack AI-driven web applications, working directly with enterprise customers to design, develop, and deploy production applications, demos, and proof-of-concept solutions. This position requires a blend of software development expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy full-stack, AI-based enterprise applications on a modern application platform
• Mentor junior team members, sharing coding standards and design techniques with less experienced engineers
• Conduct design and code reviews, evaluating customer software applications for quality, architecture, and best practices
• Test and enhance customer applications, troubleshooting and improving software directly and on behalf of clients
• Deliver technical enablement by leading technical deep-dives, product demonstrations, and customer training sessions
• Write comprehensive application specifications, technical documentation, and supporting artifacts
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, surfacing gaps and devising mitigation strategies in anticipation of customer needs
• Drive product improvement by collaborating with product management and engineering teams

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or comparable area of study
• 2+ years of professional software development experience with object-oriented programming languages
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to travel as needed

Preferred qualifications:

• Graduate degree in STEM or comparable area of study
• Experience deploying enterprise-scale applications
• Experience working in customer-facing roles
• Software development experience with JavaScript and Python
• Experience with Git or other version control software
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Redux, Vue, Backbone, or Angular
