Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Paris. In this role, you will:

• Travel onsite to work directly with end users, iterating on product features in real-time based on their feedback
• Ship complete features across the full stack to the core platform—ownership spans front-end, back-end, and everything in between
• Prototype new product capabilities, validate them with users in the field, and integrate successful experiments into the production codebase
• Collaborate closely with product management, design, and engineering teams to communicate critical insights gathered from field deployments
• Navigate complex deployment environments and deliver solutions that work end-to-end for users in operational settings

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering roles (technical founders are also encouraged to apply)
• EU citizenship—this is a contractual requirement tied to defense sector work
• Strong user empathy and the ability to think holistically about the entire user experience, not just isolated technical components
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently (approximately 25% of the time) to client sites in France, the UK, and active deployment locations
• High agency and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments

Preferred qualifications:

• Prior experience in defense, government, or dual-use technology sectors
• Background in computer vision or geospatial technologies
• Experience working with French sovereign cloud infrastructure or similarly constrained environments
• Previous field engineering, solutions engineering, or forward-deployed engineering experience at deployment-focused companies
