Field Engineer (Mid to Senior) – Heavy Civil/Concrete Construction

Join Kiewit as a Field Engineer for our heavy civil and concrete construction operations in Plattsmouth, Cass County. This is a full-time, mid to senior level position based in our Central District, focused on field supervision and transportation infrastructure projects.

About the Role

As a Field Engineer, you'll play a key role in executing complex heavy civil and concrete construction projects. You'll work directly on-site, overseeing construction activities, quality control, and project coordination. This position requires someone with solid experience in heavy civil construction who can balance technical expertise with practical field leadership.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and coordinate field operations for heavy civil and concrete construction work
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards
• Conduct daily inspections and quality control checks on concrete placement, forming, and structural elements
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain schedule and budget
• Document field conditions, progress reports, and daily logs
• Assist with material testing, verification, and documentation
• Support problem-solving and process improvements on active construction sites
• Maintain clear communication with multiple teams to keep projects on track

What We're Looking For

• Mid-to-senior level experience in heavy civil or concrete construction field roles
• Knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, materials, and best practices
• Familiarity with concrete construction, forming systems, and finishing standards
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Solid communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work full-time on-site
• Valid driver's license
