About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential construction products manufacturer seeking a Field Engineer to support their anchoring and fastening systems business across New England. This remote role requires up to 60% travel and offers the chance to work at the intersection of engineering, technical education, and field support.
You will develop deep technical expertise in specified fastening products, establish relationships with engineering firms, architects, and design professionals, and influence product specifications through education and technical communication. Your work will span jobsite visits, technical presentations, training seminars, and support for the local sales team—all while ensuring compliance with current building codes and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Build technical knowledge of fastening products, their construction applications, and design requirements per building codes
- Establish and maintain relationships with key specifying engineering firms in the New England territory
- Influence designers, architects, and engineers to specify products through scheduled visits, education, and technical communication
- Deliver technical presentations and training seminars for design professionals covering product details, performance, characteristics, applications, and code requirements
- Provide technical job-site support and collaborate with the local sales team on specification and conversion opportunities
- Assist clients with proprietary technical anchor design software and communicate customer feedback for product development
- Support submittal approval processes between contractors, architects, and engineers
- Stay current on construction technology trends including Building Information Modeling, Integrated Project Delivery, and construction software
- Maintain accurate client records in CRM systems
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in design engineering, technical support, or technical sales
- E.I.T. or FE certification required; Professional Engineering (P.E.) license strongly preferred
- Construction industry or jobsite experience preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel up to 60% within the New England region
- Strong communication and presentation skills for technical audiences
- Ability to translate technical product knowledge into practical design solutions
