Federal Marketing Principal Specialist (Hybrid Remote: McLean, VA/DC Area)

Maximus is seeking a Federal Marketing Principal Specialist to lead integrated marketing initiatives across our federal government business lines. Based in the McLean, VA/DC area with hybrid-remote flexibility and connection to our Savannah office, this full-time role offers the strategic opportunity to drive growth and market visibility for defense, civilian, federal healthcare, national security, and space sector operations.

About the Role

As a Federal Marketing Principal Specialist, you'll partner directly with business development, capture, and growth leaders to translate federal market opportunities into measurable results. This highly visible position combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution, positioning you as a critical marketing leader within our federal government division.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute integrated marketing strategies supporting federal markets: defense, civilian agencies, federal healthcare systems, national security, and space sector opportunities
• Develop market positioning, competitive messaging, and value propositions aligned with federal procurement practices and government buying cycles
• Lead marketing campaign development, from initial strategy through collateral production and digital execution
• Support business development and capture teams with pursuit-specific marketing deliverables and strategic market intelligence
• Build and maintain relationships with federal stakeholders, procurement contacts, and internal growth leaders
• Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify opportunities across federal accounts
• Ensure all marketing materials meet federal compliance, security, and regulatory standards
• Measure and report campaign effectiveness, providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated marketing experience supporting federal government agencies or federal procurement environments
• Strategic marketing leadership background managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
• Deep working knowledge of federal procurement cycles, government contracting processes, and federal compliance requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate across organizational levels
• Strong analytical and project management capabilities
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in defense, civilian federal, healthcare, national security, or space sector marketing strongly preferred
