The Opportunity
Gategroup is seeking a Facilities Technician of Operations to join our Los Angeles team. You'll play a vital role in ensuring our facility operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable standards. Your work directly supports the mission of our entire organization by maintaining systems, equipment, and spaces that employees and customers depend on daily.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff and building occupants
- Conduct routine inspections of facility infrastructure and identify potential issues before they become problems
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs completed, and equipment service schedules
- Ensure the facility meets safety codes, building regulations, and operational standards
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors when specialized repairs or maintenance are required
- Keep facility areas clean, organized, and safe for employees and visitors
- Assist with facility improvements and minor construction projects as needed
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification is a plus
- Proven experience as a facilities technician, maintenance technician, or similar role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) or willingness to develop expertise
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to urgent maintenance needs
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy equipment, and work at heights when necessary
- Reliability, professionalism, and a problem-solving mindset
