ERP Integration Expert

About This Role

We are representing a confidential AI automation company serving enterprise clients across manufacturing, retail, and logistics. They deploy intelligent workflow systems that integrate directly with mission-critical ERP platforms. We're seeking an ERP Integration Expert to own the technical architecture that connects their AI platform to complex customer environments running SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics.

This is a full-time position based in Berlin with a five-day in-office expectation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end integration architecture for new enterprise customers: assess ERP landscapes, select appropriate interface patterns (OData, RFC/BAPI, IDoc/EDI, CPI/BTP, staging tables, file-based), and design solutions that satisfy customer IT requirements
• Lead technical discovery sessions with customer IT, basis, and process teams to surface critical constraints early in the engagement
• Manage complex data and field mapping from customer order, item, partner, and pricing structures, including custom fields that encode business logic
• Design and build ERP connectors in Python for S/4HANA, ECC, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and Salesforce, creating reusable abstractions to scale integration work efficiently
• Implement durable, long-running integration workflows with safe write-back to customer systems, including idempotency, retries, replay semantics, and recovery mechanisms
• Build and maintain integration observability to detect sync failures, degradation, or data quality issues before customers are impacted
• Define and document authentication, network, and security posture for each customer engagement and shepherd it through enterprise security review
• Feed insights from customer deployments back into product development to anticipate common patterns and challenges

What We're Looking For

• Deep, hands-on ERP integration experience delivering production integrations with SAP (both S/4HANA and ECC), including fluency with IDoc, BAPI/RFC, OData/Gateway, and CPI/BTP Integration Suite
• Strong functional knowledge in at least one of SD (order-to-cash) or MM (procure-to-pay), working understanding of the other, plus FI touchpoints for AP/AR workflows
• 5+ years building and operating backend systems with production Python experience, owning services rather than just delivering features
• Engineering mindset around reliability: designing for idempotency, retries, and observability from the start; experience with workflow engines like Temporal is a strong plus
• Customer-facing technical credibility: ability to engage enterprise IT teams, understand their constraints, advocate effectively, and build confidence
• End-to-end ownership mentality: proactively identifying issues and improving systems beyond immediate task requirements
• Professional English required; German is a strong advantage given the customer base
• Comfortable with a five-day in-office work arrangement in Berlin
