Red Hat is hiring a SEA Compliance Specialist in Malaysia to lead subscription model execution and revenue performance across the ASEAN region. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting our expansion of compliance awareness and licensing discipline throughout the greater Southeast Asian market.

The Opportunity

As a SEA Compliance Specialist, you'll partner with regional sales teams, channel partners, and enterprise customers to establish and strengthen adherence to Red Hat's subscription framework across Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. This role combines strategic programme management with hands-on customer engagement, requiring someone who can translate commercial objectives into compliance reality.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop revenue streams by educating stakeholders on Red Hat's subscription model and managing compliance pathways
  • Own quarterly and annual revenue targets by prospecting compliance gaps, negotiating resolution with customers and internal account teams, and tracking outcomes via Salesforce
  • Coach regional sales teams and partners on subscription requirements and the Red Hat partner programme landscape
  • Deliver ongoing educational sessions and documentation to regional teams on subscription obligations and best practices
  • Monitor and guide non-compliant customers through resolution, escalation, and reporting workflows
  • Oversee Subscription Asset Management (SAM) programme rollout and adoption across the region
  • Lead investigations into subscription misuse and implement corrective measures within target markets
  • Establish metrics and reporting cadences for the Global Subscription Education team, tracking compliance trends and remediation progress
  • Identify and communicate regionally relevant external compliance standards that strengthen our value proposition
  • Create tailored marketing materials and messaging for regional stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure Red Hat staff and customers understand compliance obligations and expected behaviours
  • Track partner consumption reporting to guarantee accuracy and timeliness

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years in sales, business development, compliance, legal, or management contexts
  • Professional background in Big Four firms, Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or licence and contract compliance preferred
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com and CRM-based opportunity tracking
  • Strong analytical capability, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills to resolve complex disputes
  • Commercial acumen with deep familiarity of Red Hat's subscription model and its competitive advantages
  • Ability to simplify contractual language and translate terms into plain English for diverse audiences
  • Excellent communication and programme/project management skills
  • Demonstrated self-drive, initiative, and sound judgement when navigating sensitive business situations
  • Detail-oriented with process discipline
  • Sales, business development, and marketing competency to support customer and partner engagement
  • Fluency in English
