About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential engineering consultancy that develops cutting-edge solutions for industrial automation and control systems. We're seeking an Embedded Software & Systems Consultant to join their Wiesbaden location and contribute to next-generation IoT and communication technologies.

This is a permanent, hybrid position combining remote work with office collaboration. You'll work on intelligent drive systems, industrial communication protocols, and embedded platforms that power modern automation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize embedded software for controller platforms, variable-frequency drives, and servo systems
• Implement open communication protocols and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) technologies on embedded platforms
• Integrate, validate, and optimize third-party software components and communication stacks
• Work within agile, model-driven development environments to create holistic automation solutions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and international teams to deliver high-performance, reliable software products
• Contribute to innovative industrial IoT solutions across various sectors

What We're Looking For

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, communications technology, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in hardware-oriented embedded software development using C/C++ with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Strong proficiency in Python and Git-based development workflows
• In-depth knowledge of Ethernet-based communication protocols including TCP/IP, TLS, and PTP
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE 1588, TSN, and X.509 (highly desirable)
• Experience with C#, SQL, GoogleTest, Jenkins, Azure DevOps/Pipelines, Visual Studio Code, or CI/CD processes is a plus
• Excellent conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Business-level German proficiency and very good English skills required
