About This Role

We are representing a confidential industrial automation client seeking an Embedded Software & Systems Consultant to join their team in Wiesbaden. Our client develops cutting-edge solutions for industrial control, drive technologies, and the digital transformation of manufacturing environments.

In this role, you'll develop and optimize software for controller platforms, variable-frequency drives, and servo drives. Your expertise in real-time communication, embedded systems, and industrial networks will be essential to building high-performance, reliable automation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative software for open communication protocols and TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking) technologies on embedded platforms
• Integrate, validate, and optimize third-party software components and modern communication stacks
• Work within an agile development environment using model-driven methods to create holistic solutions
• Contribute as part of a dedicated agile team to develop high-performance, reliable software products
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and international teams across various technical domains
• Drive innovation in intelligent IoT solutions and next-generation automation technologies

What We're Looking For

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, communications and information technology, or comparable field
• Several years of professional experience in hardware-oriented embedded software development using C/C++ under real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• In-depth knowledge of Python and Git-based development environments
• Strong expertise in Ethernet-based communication protocols including TCP/IP, TLS, and PTP
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE 1588, TSN, and X.509 (preferred)
• Experience with C#, SQL, GoogleTest, Jenkins, Azure DevOps/Pipelines, Visual Studio Code, or CI/CD processes is a plus
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to various stakeholders
• Business-level German proficiency and very good English skills
