About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential engineering organization seeking an experienced Embedded Software & Systems Consultant. This role focuses on developing sophisticated software solutions for industrial automation platforms, including controller systems, drive technologies, and real-time communication protocols. You'll work on cutting-edge embedded systems that power the digital transformation of industrial operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for embedded controller platforms and industrial drive systems
• Implement and optimize open communication protocols and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) technologies on embedded platforms
• Integrate, validate, and optimize third-party software components and modern communication stacks
• Contribute to model-driven development methodologies within an agile framework
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and international teams to deliver high-performance, reliable software products
• Support the development of intelligent IoT solutions for industrial applications
• Participate in continuous improvement of development processes and technical standards

What We're Looking For

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, communications technology, or related field
• Several years of professional experience in hardware-oriented embedded software development
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming under real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Deep knowledge of Python and Git-based development environments
• Expertise in Ethernet-based communication protocols including TCP/IP, TLS, and PTP
• Experience with industry standards such as IEEE 1588, TSN, and X.509 (preferred)
• Familiarity with C#, SQL, GoogleTest, Jenkins, Azure DevOps/Pipelines, Visual Studio Code, or CI/CD processes (advantageous)
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively
• Business-level German and very good English language proficiency required
