Data Platform Engineer Working Student (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking a working student to support their data platform engineering practice. In this role, you will:

• Support the design and development of cloud-native data platforms and lakehouse architectures for internal projects and client engagements
• Contribute to implementing medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers), including automated data ingestion pipelines
• Assist with data governance concepts, including access control and permission models
• Help automate deployments using infrastructure-as-code practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Contribute to developing data quality frameworks and monitoring solutions for production environments
• Support technical documentation of platform architectures and internal best practices
• Participate in internal tooling and demonstrator projects that strengthen the data platform practice

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a currently enrolled student who brings:

• Active enrollment in an IT-related degree programme such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
• Interest or initial experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Enthusiasm for data lakehouses, data governance, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD methodologies
• Basic understanding of data modelling and data integration processes (ETL/ELT)
• Experience with Git and version control is desirable
• Ability to work independently and in a structured manner with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent German and English language skills (at least C1 level in both languages)
• Availability to work from the Munich office at least 50% of the time
