Elementary School/ELAR Teacher

St Phillips School and Community Center is hiring a full-time Elementary School/ELAR Teacher to join our dedicated education team in Highland Park, Dallas. About the Role

As an Elementary School/ELAR Teacher, you'll lead English Language Arts and Reading instruction across elementary grade levels. This position centers on creating dynamic, inclusive classrooms where every student can grow as a reader, writer, and communicator. You'll design thoughtful lesson plans grounded in curriculum standards, deliver engaging whole-group and small-group instruction, and respond to individual student needs through differentiated teaching strategies.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and academic standards
• Deliver engaging reading and writing instruction tailored to diverse learner needs
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction to support academic growth
• Provide both group and individualized instruction to strengthen literacy skills
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, instructional specialists, and school administrators on curriculum, student performance, and classroom management
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians about student progress, achievement, and areas for support
• Create an organized, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity and a love of reading

What We're Looking For

• Valid Texas elementary teaching certification or ELAR endorsement (or equivalent qualification)
• Strong background in reading instruction, phonics, comprehension strategies, and writing development
• Ability to plan rigorous, standards-aligned lessons and manage classroom instruction effectively
• Demonstrated skill in differentiating instruction for students at varying proficiency levels
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, administrators, and families
• Genuine enthusiasm for supporting elementary students' academic and social-emotional growth
