Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential search and analytics technology provider seeking a senior consulting architect to lead strategic delivery within UK public sector accounts. You will serve as the primary technical advisor to government stakeholders, bridging hands-on implementation with executive-level strategic planning.

In this role, you will:

• Lead solution design, platform architecture, and capacity planning for mission-critical search and analytics environments
• Build and maintain relationships with senior government stakeholders, conducting quarterly strategic sessions to align technology roadmaps with organizational objectives
• Develop proof-of-concepts and demonstrations that showcase advanced search capabilities and real-time data analytics
• Perform data modeling, query optimization, and cluster tuning to deliver fast search performance at scale
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to identify feature requirements and technical enhancements
• Partner with sales teams to scope opportunities and assess technical risks during pre-sales engagements
• Work remotely within a distributed team while maintaining significant on-site presence with government clients

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Current UK security clearance (SC or DV) or eligibility to obtain clearance – this is mandatory
• Minimum 5 years as a consultant delivering professional services engagements
• Minimum 2 years as a software engineer, system administrator, or DevOps engineer
• Hands-on experience with search platforms, particularly those built on distributed architectures
• Proficiency in at least one programming language
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems from architecture and development perspectives
• Knowledge of information retrieval and analytics domains
• Strong Linux, Java, and database fundamentals
• Proven ability to gather requirements and execute technical solutions aligned to business objectives
• Experience presenting complex technical concepts to engineers and technical decision-makers
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites across the UK

Preferred qualifications:

• Deep expertise in open-source search technologies and relevant certifications
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related discipline
• Advanced Java development skills in Linux/Unix environments
• Experience developing or delivering product training
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical documentation
