DoW Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)

Responsibilities

Our client, a confidential cybersecurity organization, needs an experienced Information Systems Security Manager to lead Risk Management Framework execution for cloud-based and AI-integrated systems operating at IL 5/6. You will provide expert guidance on federal cloud security policies, NIST SP 800-53 controls, and domain-specific frameworks including Cloud Computing SRG and AI-specific guidance.

Day-to-day, you'll conduct security architecture reviews and engineering analysis for cloud-native and containerized workloads, evaluating security controls for Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration platforms. You'll assess security risks related to generative AI components, including large language models and AI/ML workloads, ensuring responsible and compliant use.

You will develop and maintain System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, POA&Ms, and related RMF documentation. Your role includes performing threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis tailored to cloud environments and AI technologies. You'll interface with system architects, developers, and DevSecOps teams to integrate security throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, support security control assessments, coordinate with third-party assessors, and monitor compliance posture through Continuous Monitoring processes.

Minimal travel required. This is a remote position.

What We're Looking For

• Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology
• 8+ years of cybersecurity experience with demonstrated Risk Management Framework support for federal defense systems
• Security certifications: CISSP and/or CISM required
• Practical cloud platform experience—AWS, Azure, or GCP—including IAM, VPC, Kubernetes, and security-related services
• Strong knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and container security best practices
• Familiarity with Generative AI technologies, including large language models and AI/ML security considerations
• Deep understanding of NIST SP 800-53, federal RMF, FedRAMP, and related cybersecurity frameworks
• Experience conducting security risk assessments in federal defense environments
• Ability to independently lead complex systems integrating cloud IaaS/SaaS, custom applications, and AI
• Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $150,000 – $180,000 annually, based on experience, education, skills, geographic location, and applicable contract requirements.
