Director, Record to Report

Versant seeks a Director of Record to Report to lead the complete financial accounting cycle in our Orlando, Florida office. This is a full-time, remote-eligible role for an experienced finance leader who will oversee the systems, processes, and teams that transform daily transactions into timely, accurate financial reports.

Role Overview

As Director of Record to Report at Versant, you'll own the entire financial transaction lifecycle—from recording entries through the general ledger to final month-end and year-end reporting. You'll report directly to senior finance leadership and have accountability for the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all financial close activities. This remote-eligible position is based in Orlando and offers the chance to modernize accounting operations while leading a skilled finance team in a growing organization.

Core Duties

• Direct the financial close process, including account reconciliations, accrual management, and consolidation activities
• Oversee general ledger maintenance, journal entry controls, and monthly/quarterly financial statement preparation
• Manage and mentor the accounting team; establish process standards and performance expectations
• Evaluate and optimize accounting systems and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with audit teams and support external audits with documentation and control testing
• Design and monitor internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
• Analyze variances and provide finance leadership with insights on close metrics and process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional credential preferred
• 8+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or director-level role
• Strong technical knowledge of the accounting cycle, GL management, and financial reporting standards
• Proven experience leading accounting teams and driving process improvement initiatives
• Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting platforms
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
