Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a fast-growing ecommerce technology client in their search for a Director of Facilities. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing warehouse facilities operations, infrastructure optimization, and expansion projects across multiple U.S. locations. You'll lead a function that combines day-to-day facilities management with hands-on ownership of new site launches, renovations, and vendor performance.

This is a full-time remote position requiring approximately 30% travel to warehouse locations throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily facilities operations including maintenance, security, janitorial services, and vendor management in partnership with lease management teams
• Develop and execute facilities and reliability strategy aligned with company growth, including space planning and workplace design
• Manage budgets, capital expenditures, and cost optimization initiatives across all facilities
• Lead warehouse expansions, renovations, and build-outs in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring operational readiness beyond construction completion
• Establish preventive maintenance programs, escalation protocols, and vendor accountability systems to surface facility risks early
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards (OSHA, NFPA, electrical/life-safety, permitting requirements)
• Partner cross-functionally with IT, People Operations, Safety, Real Estate/Construction, and leadership to enhance workplace experience
• Drive continuous improvement in workplace experience, safety protocols, and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Significant leadership experience in facilities management, maintenance/reliability, workplace operations, or related field
• Proven experience managing office or warehouse environments, preferably in high-growth or technology companies
• Demonstrated experience leading new facility launches, including design coordination, construction oversight, and operational readiness
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and vendor management practices
• Experience managing leases, budgets, contracts, and capital projects
• Ability to identify technical, safety, and compliance risks and drive issues to resolution
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% to support site operations and vendor coordination

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in fulfillment, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or high-throughput operating environments
• Experience with material handling equipment, conveyors, sorters, dock equipment, building systems, or automated environments
• Track record developing preventive maintenance programs, scorecards, inspection routines, vendor standards, and maintenance operating mechanisms
• Experience with greenfield launches, brownfield retrofits, tenant improvements, or network expansion projects
• Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, electrical safety, insurance review, permitting, and industrial safety practices
• Military, engineering, technical operations, or field leadership background
