Director – International Relations and Diplomacy Programs

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential higher education institution with an international campus presence. We are seeking a Director to lead academic programs in International Relations and Diplomacy, based in Paris. This senior academic leadership role combines program oversight across multiple locations with campus-level academic leadership responsibilities.

The Director will ensure curriculum quality, faculty performance, and student success across undergraduate, graduate, and online programs in this discipline. You will also provide broader academic leadership for all programs at the Paris campus, working closely with academic leaders, student services, and institutional effectiveness teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead program design, review, and continuous improvement for International Relations and Diplomacy offerings across all delivery formats and locations
• Participate in assessment of program and course learning outcomes; ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
• Identify, recruit, evaluate, and support qualified faculty teaching International Relations and Diplomacy courses; conduct performance evaluations and classroom observations
• Collaborate with academic leaders at other campuses to manage faculty hiring, course allocations, and academic operations for the Paris campus
• Monitor student outcomes data; design interventions with faculty and student services to support retention and success
• Work with employability teams to boost students' career readiness and employment outcomes
• Support growth of distance learning master's programs; collaborate with educational technology teams on faculty development and learning management system implementation
• Engage with industry professionals to update teaching methodologies and incorporate current trends into curriculum
• Manage faculty workload assignments in collaboration with other academic leaders

What We're Looking For

• Earned Doctorate in International Relations, Diplomacy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution (or near completion)
• Proven experience in higher education administration and academic program management
• Demonstrated excellence in academic program design, review, and faculty/staff management
• Strong commitment to student support and success
• Knowledge and experience with distance learning and online instruction
• Familiarity with American and/or French higher education systems is advantageous
• Native English proficiency or equivalent professional fluency required
• French, German, or Spanish language skills desirable
• Leadership skills with a focus on quality, continuous improvement, and innovation
• Strong intercultural communication abilities and cultural agility
• Experience in global or international academic environments preferred
