What This Role Involves

As a Deli Sales Associate at Weis, you'll be the friendly face behind the deli counter, greeting customers and helping them select from a variety of meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and specialty items. You'll operate slicing equipment, maintain sanitary food preparation areas, and ensure our deli section runs smoothly throughout your shift. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and store operations at this Muncy location.

Key Responsibilities

• Slice, weigh, and package deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods according to customer requests and food safety standards
• Operate and maintain deli equipment including slicers, scales, and food preparation stations
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, answering questions and making product recommendations
• Stock shelves and displays with deli items, maintaining neat and attractive presentation
• Process transactions and handle cash and card payments at the deli counter
• Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain health department compliance
• Collaborate with team members to keep the deli department organized and well-stocked

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education level
• Previous customer service or food service experience (preferred but not required)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Strong attention to detail and food handling knowledge
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a clean work environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn deli operations and company procedures
