About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital media network seeking local correspondents across France. Our client operates hyperlocal news platforms that aggregate national and international content while centering community-driven journalism produced by dedicated local writers.

This is a flexible, independent contributor role ideal for writers, bloggers, communications professionals, or passionate autodidacts looking to build a sustainable presence in local digital media. You will become the voice of your community, connecting local businesses, associations, public services, and residents through accessible, engaging content.

Responsibilities

• Produce regular local content covering community news, business profiles, associations, sports, and practical municipal information
• Develop editorial features across themes such as business stories, career profiles, local events, and community initiatives
• Build relationships with the local socio-economic and associative fabric of your assigned territory
• Promote content and engage audiences via social media channels
• Serve as a liaison between local actors and residents, fostering community connection
• Manage sponsored content and partnerships within your coverage area

What We're Looking For

• Strong writing skills and comfort producing content regularly in French
• Autonomous work style with ability to manage your own schedule
• Ease with outreach to local businesses, associations, and community organizations
• Familiarity with social media and digital content distribution
• Interest in hyperlocal journalism and community storytelling
• Experience as a blogger, journalist, public writer, or communications professional is valued but not required
• Passion for your local territory and connecting with residents

Compensation Structure

This role operates on a revenue-sharing model with multiple income streams including individual articles, recurring content, commissioned partnerships, advertising, sponsorships, and referrals. Correspondents retain 100% of earnings from articles and local sponsorships. The client provides direct payment processing with settlement in 3-5 days. A quarterly participation fee applies to cover technical infrastructure and support, offset by performance bonuses. Specific compensation details will be discussed during the screening process.

Status options include freelance, payroll portage, or cooperative employment arrangements (CAPE). This role can be combined with other employment.
