Consultant Public Sector (all genders)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential public sector consulting organization in Hamburg. We're seeking a Consultant to help shape the digital transformation of government services across federal, state, and municipal levels. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely throughout Germany or from the Hamburg office.

This is a 24-month contract position with opportunities to work on meaningful projects that impact how citizens and businesses interact with government services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape consulting projects focused on public sector digitalization initiatives
• Support government agencies in implementing digital transformation programs
• Design strategies, organizational structures, and processes for public administration at all levels
• Collaborate with project teams to gather client requirements and develop innovative solution concepts
• Guide the introduction of new IT solutions from preparation through piloting, testing, and go-live
• Facilitate workshops, information sessions, and training programs for diverse stakeholders
• Create clear documentation including guidelines, handbooks, and materials for committee processes
• Support post-implementation activities including user support, hypercare, and transition to stable operations
• Engage in continuous professional development through training and team knowledge sharing

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in fields such as political science, public administration, administrative informatics, law, business informatics, or related disciplines that qualify you for this work
• Initial experience in consulting or IT project management, preferably with exposure to public administration
• Strong understanding of project planning and management methodologies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse users and stakeholders through change processes
• Ability to translate complex content into clear, accessible formats
• Technical understanding and interest in system implementation topics including configuration, interfaces, data migration, customizing, and testing
• Forward-thinking mindset that considers post-launch support and operational transition
• Genuine interest in government digitalization and how modern IT services are successfully introduced in public organizations
• Familiarity with e-government frameworks, data protection, or IT service management is a plus, though willingness to learn is most important
• Fluency in German is required for this role
