About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading global energy trading organization in their search for a Renewables Origination Analytics Intern based in Berlin. This six-month internship program runs from 15 February through 12 August 2027 and offers exceptional exposure to commercial analysis, product strategy, and data-driven decision-making in renewable energy markets. Our client operates at the intersection of energy trading, risk management, and renewable power optimization, providing a dynamic environment for learning and professional development.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Berlin requiring availability to commence on 15 February 2027. The application deadline is 20 September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Renewables Origination team on commercial, analytical and process improvement projects
• Conduct market research on renewable energy developers, projects, corporate off-takers and potential partnership opportunities
• Maintain, improve and analyse CRM data to support pipeline visibility, reporting and workflow automation
• Analyse market, client, commercial and process data to generate actionable insights supporting business development
• Support product strategy work, including research, analysis and preparation of presentation materials
• Contribute to process automation and workflow improvement initiatives, including CRM-related activities
• Explore practical applications of AI-enabled tools or machine learning to improve team processes and efficiency
• Present findings clearly to commercial, technical and operational stakeholders
• Support cross-functional coordination with trading, legal and operations teams where relevant

What We're Looking For

Essential requirements:

• Strong academic background in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science or related quantitative field
• Good data analysis skills with experience in Python or similar analytical tools, plus motivation to develop further technical capability
• Demonstrated application of data analysis, coding, automation, commercial analysis or quantitative methods to practical problems through academic projects, internships, research or personal projects
• Demonstrable interest in renewable energy markets with ability to discuss relevant industry developments
• Strong communication skills including ability to prepare clear presentations and explain analysis to diverse audiences
• Business-level proficiency in both English and German (required for Berlin-based commercial context)
• Intellectual curiosity, commercial mindset and collaborative approach
• Availability to commence six-month internship on 15 February 2027

Advantageous experience:

• Microsoft Excel, data visualization, machine learning, AI tools or workflow automation
• Salesforce or other CRM, workflow or process automation platforms
• Renewables origination, PPAs, renewable asset development, energy economics or power markets
• Previous experience preparing business presentations, commercial analysis or strategy materials
