Commit to your city's future as a full-time AmeriCorps Academic Mentor with City Year in Cabin John, Montgomery County. In this entry-level, paid position, you'll serve as a dedicated mentor and coach for students, helping them build academic confidence and personal growth while working alongside school teachers and leaders.

About the Role

You'll work as part of City Year's team-based AmeriCorps model, providing direct mentorship and coaching to help students succeed. Your focus will be on building strong relationships with students while collaborating with teachers, counselors, and school staff to address academic performance and social-emotional development. Through consistent support and evidence-based strategies, you'll help students overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

What You'll Do

• Provide individual mentoring and coaching to help students improve academically and personally
• Work in partnership with classroom teachers to reinforce learning and support student progress
• Collaborate with school staff on initiatives that strengthen student engagement and school culture
• Build meaningful relationships that inspire students to stay motivated and committed to their education
• Contribute to whole-school efforts that promote student success
