Clinical Research Associate (CRA) – Oncology

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential pharmaceutical organization seeking an experienced Clinical Research Associate to manage oncology trial sites across the United States. This field-based role requires significant travel (65-75% of working time) and offers the autonomy to build site relationships while ensuring compliance with ICH-GCP standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for assigned clinical trial sites throughout all study phases, managing site performance and patient recruitment
• Conduct on-site and remote monitoring visits including validation, initiation, monitoring, and close-out activities
• Ensure data quality and completeness while protecting subject safety, rights, and well-being
• Review and monitor regulatory documentation for study start-up, maintenance, and close-out
• Communicate with investigators and site staff regarding protocol conduct, deviations, and compliance issues
• Identify and resolve site performance or quality problems, escalating as appropriate
• Maintain documentation in clinical trial management systems and electronic trial master files within required timelines
• Collaborate with regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, finance, and vendor partners
• Support audit and inspection activities as needed
• Identify and develop new investigational sites per organizational strategy
• Act as subject matter expert and mentor for monitoring processes

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience:

• Associate's degree or certificate in scientific/healthcare discipline plus 5+ years healthcare experience including 2+ years direct site monitoring in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO environments
• OR Bachelor's degree (or above) plus 2+ years direct site monitoring experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO environments

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of clinical research phases, GCP/ICH guidelines, and U.S. clinical research regulations
• Proven site management skills including performance management and recruitment oversight
• Demonstrated monitoring expertise with independent professional judgment
• Hands-on knowledge of Good Documentation Practices
• Proficiency with MS Office and clinical trial IT applications across multiple devices
• Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive appropriate action
• Strong root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action implementation skills
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally 65-75% of time (approximately 2-3 days per week)
