MEP Engineer – Data Center Specialist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the data center industry. Our talent team is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to support critical infrastructure design and validation on a flexible contract basis. This is a remote opportunity based in Australia with immediate availability.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate complex engineering tasks in mission-critical environments, focusing on cooling, hydronic systems, HVAC, and electrical infrastructure
• Check engineering assumptions, calculations, and compliance with relevant codes and equipment specifications
• Identify technical ambiguities and recommend improvements to task prompts, acceptance criteria, and evaluation rubrics
• Conduct end-to-end validation of corrected technical work and produce clear, detailed technical findings
• Work independently and asynchronously while meeting project deadlines

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in data center or mission-critical MEP design
• Strong technical command of data center mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Working knowledge of relevant building codes and engineering standards
• Ability to interpret large technical document sets and explain complex issues clearly
• Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background at a multidisciplinary or consulting engineering firm
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or recognized commissioning credential
