Climate Asset Development Lead (f/d/m)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential climate technology organization that is building enterprise infrastructure for environmental asset management. Our client works with major corporations deploying capital toward carbon markets, renewable energy certificates, and sustainable aviation fuel instruments.

As Climate Asset Development Lead, you will architect and execute the supply strategy across multiple environmental asset classes. Starting as an individual contributor, you will own market entry decisions, negotiate complex transactions, and scale a trading operation from the ground up. This is a high-impact role combining strategic thinking with hands-on deal execution in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement supply access strategy across Energy Attribution Certificates (EAC), Sustainable Aviation Fuel certificates (SAFc), and secondary carbon markets
• Evaluate new market opportunities end-to-end, from initial assessment through transaction close
• Execute environmental asset transactions: source supply, negotiate pricing and contracts, structure complex deals
• Lead and grow the Climate Asset Development function, starting with one direct report and scaling the team as transaction volume increases
• Establish thought leadership on EAC and SAFc markets, translating policy developments and market trends into actionable business strategy
• Build relationships with suppliers, registries, and regulatory bodies; serve as subject-matter expert in client conversations
• Drive cross-functional initiatives with Revenue, Supply, Operations, and Product teams
• Structure market data from quotes, platforms, and intelligence providers to support forecasting and decision-making

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years in strategy consulting, high-growth startups, or comparable fast-paced environments
• Experience with climate performance assets, trading, or energy markets strongly preferred
• Exceptional analytical capabilities with rigorous attention to detail
• Proven ability to balance speed with executional excellence; comfort taking measured risks within defined frameworks
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholder groups
• High ownership and accountability; willingness to learn and adapt quickly
• Commercial acumen and results orientation
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, economics, finance, international relations, environmental studies, or related field preferred
• Fluency in English required
• Valid work authorization for Germany
