About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the insurance services sector who is seeking a Client Accounting Coordinator to join their team in Canada. This role serves as the primary accounting contact for a portfolio of client programs, managing loss fund activity, financial reporting, and banking coordination from program setup through ongoing operations.

As the coordinator, you will partner with clients, claims teams, banking partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely accounting operations that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of client programs as the primary accounting contact for loss fund activity, financial questions, and reporting needs
  • Oversee program accounting from initial setup through ongoing operations, including bank account coordination, CRM setup support, and documentation management
  • Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, and ad hoc financial reports covering loss fund balances, claims payment activity, funding needs, and program metrics
  • Monitor loss fund balances and claim payment activity to determine funding requests or excess fund returns
  • Manage daily accounting transactions including void checks, payment corrections, and escheatment-related activity
  • Participate in bank reconciliation processes by researching reconciling items and communicating variances to clients and stakeholders
  • Support client audits by gathering and organizing documentation related to loss fund activity, payments, and financial reporting
  • Maintain communication with claims management to ensure timely payment processing and prevent regulatory issues
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, payment questions, and client inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Maintain organized records and documentation in Excel and required systems to support reporting accuracy and audit readiness

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3–5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional stakeholder interaction abilities
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including managing large data sets, reconciliations, and financial analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple client programs and deadlines simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, bank reconciliation, accounts payable, and financial documentation requirements
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive client and financial information

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting client reporting, funding requests, reconciliations, payment processing, or audit documentation
  • Background in insurance claims, third-party administration, loss fund accounting, fiduciary accounting, or related financial services
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
  • Experience with CRM systems, accounting systems, banking platforms, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of banking practices, loss fund administration, or insurance claims processing
