Business Development Representative — VIE Germany

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential defense technology organization in their search for a Business Development Representative based in Munich, Germany. This is a VIE (Volontariat International en Entreprise) position serving as the commercial entry point into the German market — Europe's largest defense sector currently undergoing significant industrial expansion.

You will be positioned at the heart of Germany's defense industrial ecosystem, supporting early-stage commercial development with major industry players and institutional contacts. This role offers a unique opportunity to map markets, build foundational relationships, and contribute to pipeline development during a period of accelerated investment and capability demand.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Map Germany's defense industrial landscape, including prime contractors, systems integrators, procurement bodies, and innovation initiatives
• Identify partnership and integration opportunities aligned with AI-driven defense capabilities, counter-drone systems, and ISR technologies
• Track German defense policy developments, procurement priorities, and major investment programs
• Produce regular market intelligence reports for senior leadership and account management teams
• Initiate and develop first-contact relationships with business development, engineering, and procurement teams at target accounts including major German defense contractors
• Support preparation of partner-facing materials, capability presentations, and meeting briefings
• Qualify opportunities and escalate concrete prospects to the regional Account Manager
• Represent the organization at key German defense industry events in Munich and Berlin
• Serve as the operational bridge between Munich operations and headquarters, coordinating logistics for partner visits, demonstrations, and leadership travel
• Ensure smooth cross-cultural and multilingual communication across teams

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 0–3 years of professional experience; recent graduates and early-career candidates welcome
• Background in business development, international relations, political science, engineering, or related field
• German fluency — mandatory: you will build relationships with German industrial companies in their native language
• English fluency — mandatory
• Genuine interest in defense technology, European security, and Germany's defense industrial ecosystem
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable building relationships from scratch in a new market
• Culturally agile and equally at ease in formal industrial settings and fast-moving organizational environments
• VIE Eligibility: French or EU nationality required. Must be aged 18–28 at mission start. Cannot have completed a prior VIE with the same employer.

Strongly Preferred:

• Prior exposure to Germany through studies, internship, or work experience
• French language proficiency (daily interaction with headquarters)
