Backend Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential AI company seeking a Backend Engineer to join their remote team. This organization focuses on building consumer-facing AI products with an emphasis on user privacy and cutting-edge technology. You'll be working on maintaining and scaling backend services for established SaaS platforms while contributing to new product development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance, secure, and scalable backend services using Go and gRPC
• Develop and maintain software applications within a microservices architecture
• Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes infrastructure
• Design, develop, and optimize SQL databases while troubleshooting database-related issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship new features and products efficiently
• Participate in architecture design for new services and lead their implementation
• Work closely with frontend engineers to ensure seamless integration
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments
• Utilize Git for version control and team collaboration

What We're Looking For

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Go programming language and gRPC framework
• Experience writing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and the k8s ecosystem (including Helm)
• Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures
• Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience working with large, evolving codebases
• Track record of designing high-performance, scalable backend services
• Understanding of security best practices

Bonus Qualifications:

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (Cassandra, ScyllaDB, MongoDB)
• Experience with TypeScript and Node.js for legacy system maintenance
• Familiarity with payment system APIs (Stripe, Paddle)
• Understanding of common software design patterns
• Experience with CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud
