About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy focused on AI-driven solutions for mid-market enterprises. Our talent team is seeking an Automation & AI Developer to join their project-focused environment in Dingolfing, Germany. This role offers direct project ownership from day one, working with real clients on production systems that integrate large language models, workflow automation, and data pipelines.

You will collaborate with a compact team where your work directly impacts client outcomes. This is a hands-on technical position requiring strong German communication skills and proven experience building n8n workflows, integrating LLMs, and designing data structures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy n8n workflows ranging from simple automations to complex, multi-stage AI agent systems
• Integrate and orchestrate large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.) including prompt engineering and performance evaluation
• Build ETL/ELT data pipelines: extract data from enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, databases), transform it, and deliver it into workflows
• Design and implement ML pipelines covering data preparation, model training, fine-tuning, and evaluation
• Integrate REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems
• Provide backend support in Python and/or JavaScript/Node.js for custom code nodes and data processing
• Design relational database structures for workflow data
• Deploy and operate solutions on Linux servers using Docker and basic server administration
• Document all workflows thoroughly for client handoff or internal use
• Collaborate closely with technical leadership and project management

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications (non-negotiable):

• Demonstrable practical experience with n8n (freelance, personal projects, or employment): you understand triggers, expressions, error handling, and custom code nodes
• Data science fundamentals: working knowledge of data structures, ETL processes, SQL, and data modeling—you can clean and transform data properly
• Production experience with LLMs: you have deployed language models and understand prompting, context management, and evaluation techniques
• Solid backend skills in Python and/or JavaScript/Node.js for data processing and API integration
• German language proficiency: very good written and spoken German (B2 minimum, C1 preferred)—you will communicate with German-speaking clients and internal teams

Valued but not mandatory:

• Experience with data warehousing and integrating data from heterogeneous systems
• Knowledge of RAG architectures and vector databases (Qdrant, Weaviate, or similar)
• Experience connecting ERP systems (SAP, Lexware, BMD, DATEV, etc.)
• Deployment experience with Linux and Docker
• Familiarity with MLOps or model evaluation practices
