Associate Vice President, Strategy

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential creative agency in a search for an Associate Vice President of Strategy. This is a senior leadership position requiring someone who can both guide complex strategic engagements and develop a high-performing team. You'll work with mission-driven organizations, helping them build brands and campaigns that advance their goals.

This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates residing in the continental United States. Travel is required for client workshops and engagements.

Responsibilities

As Associate Vice President of Strategy, you will:

• Lead the Strategy discipline, establishing methodologies, frameworks, and quality standards that strengthen consistency and impact across all client work
• Manage and develop strategists through coaching, regular feedback, performance reviews, and career development planning
• Provide strategic oversight across engagements, ensuring insights are meaningful, recommendations are actionable, and deliverables align with client objectives
• Serve as senior advisor to client leadership teams, facilitating executive workshops, navigating complex stakeholder dynamics, and guiding teams toward alignment
• Lead complex engagements from discovery through activation, including research, competitive analysis, positioning, messaging, and campaign strategy
• Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, operations, and business development teams to ensure integrated delivery and strategic excellence
• Support business development through discovery conversations, proposal development, and relationship building that expands client partnerships
• Evolve strategic offerings by identifying emerging trends, refining processes, and developing training resources that elevate team capabilities
• Champion agency culture and contribute to annual planning, goal setting, and strategic initiatives across the organization

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 10+ years leading strategy engagements that include research, analysis, insight development, and strategic direction
• Proven experience within a brand or creative agency environment
• Demonstrated success developing strategists, coaching teams, and managing people
• Track record guiding complex client engagements and navigating executive-level stakeholder relationships
• Experience evolving methodologies, processes, and strategic frameworks

• Strategic leadership at the intersection of people development and client delivery
• Exceptional facilitation skills for workshops and executive planning sessions
• Ability to create clarity from complexity and translate insights into actionable recommendations
• Strong relationship-building capabilities with clients and internal teams
• Deep understanding of branding across messaging, visual identity, digital experiences, and campaigns
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Sound judgment navigating ambiguity, managing scope, and balancing strategic thinking with practical execution

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $140,000 – $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
