About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential legal technology organization that is transforming how AI is adopted within professional legal practice. Our client works with leading law firms and legal departments globally, and they need a researcher who can rigorously measure how legal professionals actually build capability with AI tools—not just track usage metrics.

This is a hands-on, mid-level applied research role based in London. You'll design studies, analyze data yourself, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for product, customer success, and leadership teams. You'll work close to real deployments in law firms, studying genuine adoption patterns rather than hypothetical scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute mixed-methods studies that distinguish real AI proficiency growth from surface-level usage among legal professionals
• Build and validate research instruments including surveys, interview protocols, and quantitative measures that stand up to stakeholder scrutiny
• Directly analyze usage and outcome data using standard research tooling to identify adoption patterns across different firms and practice areas
• Translate research findings into concrete recommendations for product features, onboarding programs, and customer enablement strategies
• Communicate results through clear written reports, presentations, and dashboards that inform leadership decisions
• Help prioritize the research roadmap, balancing depth on high-value questions with breadth across a fast-moving customer base

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Research background in applied social science, human-computer interaction, organizational psychology, or related quantitative/qualitative methods discipline
• Solid mixed-methods skills: survey design, basic psychometrics, structured interviewing, and judgment to select appropriate methodologies
• Hands-on technical ability in Python and data analysis—you'll run your own analyses
• Experience conducting applied research within large, complex organizations or enterprise technology environments
• Comfort working with messy, real-world adoption data rather than clean experimental datasets
• Strong written and verbal communication with a track record of influencing product and business decisions
• Genuine interest in how AI is changing professional work, particularly in legal contexts

Strong candidates may also have:

• Experience designing or running A/B testing frameworks in product or enterprise software contexts
• Prior exposure to legal, professional services, or expertise-driven industries where trust and accuracy are paramount
• Experience partnering directly with customers to understand adoption barriers
• Published or internal writing on skill development, technology adoption, or human-AI collaboration
• Comfort operating in smaller, faster-moving companies after time at larger organizations
