Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization in Germany that is seeking an Analytics Engineer to take full ownership of supply data and transform it into reliable, analysis-ready datasets. You will partner with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Supply stakeholders to ensure everyone works from a single, clean source of truth.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify overlapping data needs across forecasts, optimization, and reporting, then create reusable mart tables
  • Simplify existing transformations so downstream teams never rebuild the same logic
  • Build and monitor data pipelines using Python and GCP, ensuring they remain healthy and performant
  • Document schemas, lineage, and data contracts comprehensively
  • Guard the platform by managing IAM roles, data-access boundaries, cost monitoring, performance tuning, and data validity checks
  • Mentor junior analysts and raise SQL skills across the Supply organization

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years of professional analytics engineering experience (or similar), with a proven track record of turning messy operational data into governed analytics layers
  • Advanced SQL skills, routinely writing complex CTEs, window functions, and query optimization
  • Strong Python skills for ETL and orchestration
  • Hands-on experience with GCP, BigQuery, Git, and CI/CD workflows
  • Ability to methodically analyze complex, tangled systems and design clear, structured improvement plans
  • Proactive ownership of platform health, ensuring robust monitoring, governance, and reliability
  • Ability to balance long-term, clean system design with immediate business value delivery
  • Confident collaboration across teams to establish data contracts and align upstream source teams, downstream consumers, data scientists, and analysts

Preferred:

  • Experience with modern transformation and orchestration tools like dbt or Dagster
  • Familiarity with AWS core services, specifically Batch, Lambda, and Step Functions
  • Industry background or domain knowledge in supply chain or logistics
  • Exposure to data cataloging and data observability platforms
