PATH is seeking a Property Manager I to lead operations at our El Cerrito community in San Diego County. In this full-time position, you'll manage all aspects of our affordable housing property, overseeing residents, finances, maintenance, and the on-site team.
About the Role
You'll serve as the primary on-site leader for property operations, managing everything from resident intake and contract administration to vendor relations and safety protocols. Your day-to-day work will include:
- Processing and managing resident applications, lease signings, and move-ins while verifying housing program eligibility
- Leading and directing on-site staff across maintenance, housekeeping, and administrative roles, including hiring and performance feedback
- Building and maintaining strong resident relationships, addressing community concerns, and fostering a stable living environment
- Coordinating building repairs, scheduling preventive maintenance, and ensuring facilities meet safety and quality standards
- Tracking and analyzing property finances, including revenue collection, expense management, budgeting, and cash flow oversight for properties with up to 50 units and budgets up to $750,000
- Managing contract enforcement, documenting lease violations, and coordinating legal procedures when needed
- Overseeing annual tax credit verification and resident eligibility recertifications to maintain program compliance
- Creating and executing emergency response protocols and being available for urgent issues outside regular business hours
- Working with partner organizations to coordinate supportive services and communicate program updates to residents
- Documenting tenant information and operational data in digital management platforms with accuracy and organization
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 2 years managing multifamily residential properties, with preference for experience in subsidized or supportive housing
- Detail-oriented analytical abilities applied to financial review and performance reporting
- Clear and persuasive communication skills for resident engagement and team collaboration
- Self-directed approach to problem-solving and managing competing demands
- Strong ethical foundation and professional accountability
- Current valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation (required to carry out job duties)
- Eligibility to earn and maintain CPR/First Aid training
- Commitment to residing on-site per position requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Four-year degree with focus on social work, business management, public administration, or similar field
- Track record building or operating affordable or supportive housing properties
- Knowledge of subsidized housing program rules and compliance requirements

Compensation & Benefits
Hourly rate ranges from $28.07 to $35.09, with placement determined by experience level (pay administered in 24 annual periods). Full-time employees receive medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off including vacation and sick leave; paid holidays; and retirement plan participation.
