AI SWE / Agentic Handover Engineer – T Cloud Public (REF5673M)

Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions is hiring an AI Software Engineer / Agentic Handover Engineer for our T Cloud Public division based in Budapest, Szeged, Pécs, or Debrecen, Hungary. This is a full-time, remote-eligible position for a software engineer who can architect systems where intelligent agents delegate tasks and context across cloud services.

Position Summary

You'll design and implement the systems that enable AI agents to hand off work, state, and execution flows reliably within cloud environments. This role bridges software engineering, AI systems design, and cloud architecture—you'll build robust backend systems while working with emerging agentic AI patterns to make T Cloud Public a platform where distributed, autonomous systems collaborate effectively.

Your Responsibilities

• Architect and develop handover protocols that allow AI agents to transfer tasks and context between services and microservices
• Build resilient communication layers and state-management systems for agent-to-agent and agent-to-system interactions
• Integrate with cloud infrastructure and APIs to enable seamless task orchestration and execution
• Write production-grade code with thorough testing, monitoring, and observability built in
• Partner with platform teams, machine learning engineers, and product leaders to refine agentic system workflows
• Contribute to architectural reviews and help establish technical standards for AI system reliability

What We're Looking For

• Software engineering foundation (3+ years), ideally with experience building distributed systems or cloud platforms
• Working understanding of AI and large language models, and how they are deployed in production
• Fluency in a backend language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++, and familiarity with cloud-native technologies
• Experience with message queues, event streaming, or workflow orchestration
• Comfort in emerging technical spaces; you'll help define best practices as agentic AI systems evolve
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate clearly across engineering, data science, and product teams
