Sovereign AI Platform Engineer – T Cloud Public (REF5674Y)

Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions seeks a talented Sovereign AI Platform Engineer to join our T Cloud Public team in Budapest, Szeged, Pécs, or Debrecen, Hungary. This is a full-time remote position where you'll architect and develop the infrastructure that powers our next-generation AI capabilities on sovereign cloud infrastructure.

The Opportunity

We're building the technical foundation for AI-driven innovation on T Cloud Public, Europe's trusted sovereign cloud platform. As a Sovereign AI Platform Engineer, you'll play a central role in designing, implementing, and scaling the systems that enable organisations across Hungary and beyond to harness artificial intelligence securely and responsibly. You'll work at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and emerging AI technologies—solving complex architectural challenges and setting standards for technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop platform components that support AI workloads on sovereign cloud infrastructure
• Build robust, scalable solutions for AI model deployment, orchestration, and lifecycle management
• Collaborate with teams across Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions to integrate AI capabilities into T Cloud Public services
• Ensure systems meet stringent requirements for security, data sovereignty, and compliance
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and platform strategy
• Optimise system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
• Mentor team members and share knowledge across the engineering community

What You Bring

• Solid foundation in cloud platform engineering and distributed systems architecture
• Experience with containerisation, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Strong programming skills in languages relevant to platform development
• Familiarity with AI and ML infrastructure, tooling, or operational challenges
• Understanding of security, data governance, and sovereignty requirements in cloud environments
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to technical detail
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience
