About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS platform organization seeking an AI Engineer to join their technical team in Bordeaux, France. This is a permanent (CDI) position with 4 days on-site per week.

Our client is at the forefront of building production-grade AI systems that power intelligent commerce solutions. You'll work at the intersection of software engineering, machine learning, and generative AI to build AI-native products, agentic systems, and platform capabilities used by enterprise customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems for internal operations, leveraging LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, multimodal AI, and evaluation frameworks
• Architect complex agentic workflows including tools, memory, retrieval, planning, and guardrails
• Rapidly prototype new capabilities and evolve them into scalable, reliable AI production systems
• Connect AI systems to internal platforms, business applications, and data sources including CRM, data platforms, project management tools, and knowledge bases
• Design robust orchestration layers between models, APIs, tools, retrieval systems, and business workflows
• Partner with end users, business teams, product managers, and engineers to identify high-value opportunities for AI implementation
• Run pilots and experiments, gathering qualitative and quantitative feedback to measure business impact
• Analyze usage patterns, failure modes, costs, latency, and performance metrics to continuously improve systems
• Implement evaluation frameworks, guardrails, validation layers, and monitoring systems
• Ensure compliance with data security, governance, and access control requirements
• Build a scalable ecosystem of AI systems that empower both internal teams and customers
• Contribute to AI engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, ML Engineering, Applied AI, or related fields
• Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals
• Hands-on experience building production AI systems using LLMs, RAG, and AI Agents
• Experience designing multi-step agentic workflows and retrieval systems
• Experience evaluating AI systems and improving model performance
• Experience deploying and operating production services in cloud environments (AWS or GCP)
• Strong communication skills in English
• Curiosity, pragmatism, and passion for building AI products

Technical Stack:

• Languages: Python and SQL
• AI Stack: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral, and open-source models
• Agentic & Retrieval: LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, MCP, and Vector Databases
• Infrastructure: AWS or GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes

Pay

This position offers an annual gross salary package ranging from €55,000 to €65,000, determined by experience, skills, and scope of responsibilities.
