About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is transforming how global debt markets operate through AI-powered solutions. Our client works with over 300 blue-chip institutions worldwide and is experiencing exceptional growth as they scale their platform globally.
The Data Science team is expanding and seeking an AI Engineer to accelerate the application of AI across products and teams. This is an opportunity to build large-scale AI systems, apply cutting-edge techniques, and work alongside world-class researchers and engineers in London.
Responsibilities
- Design and build generative AI applications tailored to complex financial and legal workflows, leveraging state-of-the-art models to deliver innovative solutions that streamline decision-making
- Drive end-to-end model development lifecycle, leading the team in best practices and ensuring reproducible research and well-managed model delivery and deployment
- Collaborate cross-functionally to share ideas, understand business problems, and mentor teammates
- Translate complex problems into well-defined scoped initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced startup-style environment
- Learn and apply groundbreaking research in advanced topics, iterating improvements with a fail-fast mentality
- Proactively share compelling ideas and work to help drive AI adoption throughout the organization
What We're Looking For
- Strong proficiency in Python for production-ready delivery
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas, with familiarity across others:
- Information Retrieval: chunking strategies, finetuning embedding models, training re-rankers
- Entity/relationship extraction and resolution
- Knowledge Graphs: building, inference, and graphRAG
- Recommendation systems and ranking: personalization, learning-to-rank, feed ranking, user modeling
- Tabular ML: feature engineering, structured data modeling (GBDTs, etc.)
- Statistical & Predictive Modeling: supervised ML, anomaly detection, temporal modeling
- Deep understanding of the GenAI landscape and agentic frameworks
- Experience working in the full model lifecycle, including experimentation, training, testing, monitoring, and deployment
- Strong product focus with desire to understand end-to-end impact of solutions for end users
- Good knowledge of AWS's AI infrastructure
