About the Role
This is a supplemental contract position (3.0) supporting the Rustin High School (RHS) softball program during the spring 2026-2027 season. As an Assistant Coach, you will work alongside the head coach to guide student-athletes through practices, games, and skill development while reinforcing the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Compensation is set per the WCAEA contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the head softball coach in planning and running effective practice sessions.
- Support athlete instruction in hitting, fielding, pitching, and base-running fundamentals.
- Help prepare the team for competitive games throughout the spring season.
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment that prioritizes student-athlete safety and growth.
- Model good sportsmanship and uphold district athletic standards and expectations.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules, and strategy.
- Strong communication and mentorship skills for working with high school students.
- Commitment to player development, safety, and team success.
- Availability for the full spring season, including practices and scheduled games.
- All required clearances and certifications consistent with district coaching standards.
