West Chester Area School District is hiring a full-time Math Advocate for the 2026-2027 school year in West Chester, Chester County. This supplemental contract position at the elementary level is designed to strengthen mathematics instruction and support student achievement across the district.
About the Role
As a Math Advocate with West Chester Area School District, you'll lead efforts to advance elementary mathematics education through direct classroom support, teacher coaching, and curriculum implementation. This supplemental position is central to building strong instructional practices and helping every student develop mathematical confidence and competence.
What You'll Do
- Partner with elementary teachers to refine math instruction and classroom practices
- Deliver professional development and coaching on effective mathematics teaching strategies
- Analyze student performance data to guide intervention and support decisions
- Model exemplary math lessons and help teachers strengthen their instructional approach
- Support implementation of district math curriculum and instructional initiatives
- Provide direct intervention and academic support for students needing additional math help
- Contribute to continuous program improvement across elementary schools in the district
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Elementary Education, or closely related field
- Current or eligible Pennsylvania teaching certification in Mathematics or Elementary Education
- Demonstrated expertise in elementary mathematics instruction and pedagogy
- Teaching experience at the elementary level or prior experience in an instructional coaching role
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills
- Ability to interpret and use student performance and assessment data effectively
- Commitment to equitable instruction and meeting the needs of all learners
