About the Role
Venture Community Services is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., supporting adults age 22 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You'll play a key role in advocating for each individual's wellbeing, independence, and community participation while delivering compassionate, person-centered care.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct support and advocacy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living activities
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, and health-related needs
- Facilitate community integration and meaningful activities and programs
- Create and maintain safe, respectful, and supportive environments
- Communicate effectively with individuals, family members, and interdisciplinary teams
- Document progress and report on individual wellbeing and support needs
- Support individuals in developing life and vocational skills
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Genuine commitment to supporting people with developmental disabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a care team
- Reliability and full attendance for the Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–3 p.m. schedule
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (preferred)
